Patrol Division

The Patrol Division consists of twelve Patrol Officers and four Sergeants. The officers of the patrol division are the primary tool of the department to respond to calls for service, investigate criminal actions and deter criminal activity within the city. This is accomplished by dynamic patrol tactics, proactive policing and utilizing the Community Oriented Policing Philosophy.

Several of these positions are allotted to specialized assignments such as Traffic Officers, K-9 Officers and Field Training Officers. The K-9 officer is responsible for handling the departments K-9 during searches due to the specialized training required by the position. The K-9 officer is also part of the regular patrol staff but may assist other agencies and divisions as well.

A number of the Patrol Officers are also assigned to the FTO program and are responsible for training new officers to the department’s high standards.
