The Wharton City Council is seeking people to serve on the following boards and commissions: Beautification City Commission, Building Standards Commission, Holiday Light Decorating Chairman, and Mayor’s Committee on People with Disabilities. Wharton Citizens Police Academy Chief Tim Guin and the members of the Wharton Police Department would like to invite you to attend the Wharton Citizens Police Academy. The purpose of the Academy is to provide the citizens with a better understanding of the daily operation of your Police Department. The class hours are 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. every Wednesday evening for 14 weeks. During the 14-week course you will be exposed to many areas of law enforcement. You will have the opportunity to:
