City of Wharton Youth Commission

Mission Statement

The Wharton Youth Advisory Commission should be a liaison between the youth of Wharton and the City Council and, through service and environmental projects and social events, should promote civic responsibility and safety among Wharton youth.

Who can join YAC?

Any student, 7th – 12th grade, who reside in the Wharton Independent School District.

The Youth Advisory Commission is made up of a Board and a Resource Committee. The Board consists of 20 students and two adult advisors. The Resource Committee is made up of an unlimited number of seventh through twelfth graders and a group of adult advisors.
