Department Responsibilities
 

The Police Department is under the direction and supervision of the Police Chief, Timothy Guin, who is appointed by the City Council.

The department is responsible for:

  1. Enforcement of Traffic Laws
  2. Accident Investigations
  3. Community Education
  4. Crime Prevention Programs
  5. Investigation of Crimes Against Persons and Property
  6. Narcotic Investigations
  7. Maintenance of Criminal Records and/or Files
  8. Radio Communications and Teletype Services

The department personnel is comprised of 11 staff and administrative positions and 23 certified peace officers. The Police Department strives to provide the highest quality of services possible within the City's fiscal limitations.
